South Carolina National Golf Club is George W. Cobb's last creation and showcases all his design talents. Located on Cat Island, this 432-acre barrier island is two miles southeast of Beaufort, a scenic 40-minute drive from Hilton Head.

Cobb's layout takes full advantage of Cat Island's densely wooded interior. Centuries-old live oaks draped with Spanish moss frame many scenes. Numerous doglegs place a premium on ball placement off the tee. All of the par 3 holes are particularly demanding. The treacherous 16th hole and the back-to-back 4th and 5th all require iron shots over beautiful expanses of marsh.

The South Carolina National Golf Club was treated to a complete renovation in 1999. If you are not pleased with conditions after playing three holes, we will cheerfully refund your golf and cart fees.
