Greg Norman golf has finally come to the Hilton Head area. Oldfield, a private golf community 20 minutes from Hilton Head, opened a year ago to wide acclaim. The course features Norman trademarks such as little rough and few forced carries, and boasts the largest greens in the Lowcountry. But don't let the large greens and generally wide fairways fool you - at only 7,136 yards from the tips, Oldfield is a shotmaker's course that puts a premium on accuracy and smart play.

Unusually deep bunkers that feature grass-sodded walls offer another visually impressive and unique trait to the course.

In addition to the course, Oldfield offers members an innovative Outfitters Center where members can enjoy boating kayaking, fishing, shrimping and crabbing. This summer, the Activity Center will open, highlighted by a 22-acre lake for fishing and boating, indoor and outdoor pools, an aerobic and exercise facility and six Har-Tru tennis courts.
